Sourdough Pull-Apart Bread

I made this deliciousness the other night for dinner (it would probably be better for an appetizer, but whatev) and it was too good not to share!

I originally got it off Pinterest, and you can click on the link to see the original recipe, since I modified it a little for us. Or you can use my modification below to make your own! (I modified it because the only "craving" I've had so far, is that I don't want ranch on anything anymore. I used to put it on all of my food and now it just grosses me out!)

Cheesy Bacon Pull-Apart Bread

1 loaf sourdough bread
1/2 cup butter, melted
Garlic salt, to taste
Shredded cheese, desired amount
REAL bacon bits, desired amount

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Use a sharp bread knife to cut the bread in both directions. Do not cut all the way through the bottom crust. Stuff the desired amount of cheese and bacon between the cuts. Add garlic salt to the melted butter and drizzle over bread. Wrap in foil. (I had to fold two pieces together to make it wide enough to hold that massive loaf.) Put it in the oven for 15-20 minutes. Open the foil and let it cook for about 10 more minutes. Remove and serve.

I know my pictures don't do it justice but it was totally delicious! (The original recipe pictures are much prettier.) It was big enough to serve both of us for two dinners. The second night, I just had to wrap it back up and bake it again! (Except that I had to cook it a bit longer the second time, about double the amount of time, since it had been in the fridge.)

oh goodness... that looks amazing. I'm not sure i could control myself to just eat a couple pieces though (the diet, you see). So... I wonder if I can modify it (even more) to go with rolls...? Maybe I'll give it a try!
